Straw Wattles & Logs
In recent years, Straw Wattles & Straw Logs have gained popularity as an economical, easy to use and effective method of sediment control. Our Straw Wattles & Straw Logs are made of 100% agriculture certified weed free straw fibers, stuffed into tubes of extra heavy duty, UV stabilized netting. When installed on slopes "on contour", Wattles act as sediment filter barriers, reducing surface sheet erosion and capturing sediment. They are available in a variety of lengths, with a finished diameter of about 9". With their larger diameters of 12" and 18", Logs are designed to be used where in the past, one would have used straw/hay bales. Temporary Ditch Checks and Inlet Protection are common applications for Straw Logs.
Made of degradable materials, Straw Wattles & Logs can often be left in place, saving the cost of removal and disposal.

Made with lightweight and durable materials, Triangular Silt Dike® Barrier weighs just 7 or 9 lbs per seven foot section and installs in minutes with U-shaped wire staples. Built-in aprons on both sides of the barrier prevent undermining and scour from failing the structure. Triangular Silt Dike® Barrier is durable enough to be driven over, returning immediately to its original shape, yet flexible enough to be installed on rough or rocky terrain. The units are reusable, and multiple units can be interconnected to create a continuous barrier.
