Asphalt Overlay Geotextiles
Installed between layers of old and new asphalt pavement, Petromat® Asphalt Overlay Geotextiles can add years to the life of the new pavement surface. Petromat® is made of polypropylene staple fibers needle punched together and calendared on one side to create a fabric with an affinity for petroleum products. Petromat® is deployed over a tack coat of asphalt cement just prior to paving. Heat from the new asphalt pavement draws the tack coat deep into the Petromat® geotextile creating a membrane like composite. Moisture is restricted from entering the pavement base materials, adding years of life to a typical asphalt pavement.

Petrotac® is a pre-coated, self adhesive asphalt overlay geotextile. Designed to minimize installation costs, Petrotac® is deployed without the aid of machines or special tack coats. It comes on narrow rolls, perfect for projects where total coverage is not required.
Convenient roll sizes make installation easy for one laborer. Waste is minimized by matching roll size to defected area. |
