Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles

Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles

Mirafi Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles get their name from a unique manufacturing process. After being cut and opened, filaments of polypropylene are laid into a web. They then pass through thousands of needles that penetrate and orient the fibers, locking them with one another. With superior filtration and hydraulic conductivity characteristics, Mirafi Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles are among the most versatile types of geotextiles. They are available in many weights, with heavier fabrics possessing superior strength. High elongation characteristics ensure survivability in demanding installations.

The ability of lightweight Mirafi Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles to restrict soil particles but allow water to easily pass through makes them perfect for filtration and/or separation applications. Mediumweight Mirafi Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles are heavier and stronger for more demanding filtration and/or separation applications where stabilization may be required. Heavyweight Mirafi Nonwoven Needle Punched Geotextiles protect geomembranes from puncture and abrasion. Their thick mass allows lateral transmission of liquids and gas, and their strength adds stability to soft, saturated subgrades.

Spunbonded Nonwoven Geotextiles

Spunbonded Nonwoven Geotextiles

DuPont SF Spunbonded Geotextiles are nonwoven, spunbonded, continuous filament polypropylene that have excellent fiber distribution. This means you get extremely uniform weight and physical properties, which translate into consistent quality.

DuPont SF Spunbonded Nonwoven Geotextiles have a wide array of uses including:

Septic Systems & Drain Fields

Subsurface Drainage

Roadway Separation

Asphault Overlay Geotextiles

Asphalt Overlay Geotextiles

Installed between layers of old and new asphalt pavement, Petromat® Asphalt Overlay Geotextiles can add years to the life of a new pavement surface. Petromat® is made of polypropylene staple fibers needle punched together and calendared on one side to create a fabric with an affinity for petroleum products. Petromat® is deployed over a tack coat of asphalt cement just prior to paving. Heat from the new asphalt pavement draws the tack coat deep into the Petromat® geotextile, creating a membrane-like composite. Moisture is restricted from entering the pavement base materials, adding years of life to a typical asphalt pavement.

Reduce Maintenance Cost

Increased Pavement Life

Permanent Moisture Barrier

Petrotac® is a pre-coated, self-adhesive asphalt overlay geotextile. Designed to minimize installation costs, Petrotac® is deployed without the aid of machines or special tack coats. It comes on narrow rolls, perfect for projects where total coverage is not required.

Convenient for on-the-spot repairs

Requires no special equipment for installation
